Can't edit comment

Hi all,

This is a recurrent issue. After writing a comment, I only see the option to add one, but for some reason I can't edit it, unless I go to View > Comments and see the full list of comments in the file. I thought that having the cursor in any position of the highlighted part would be enough, but sometimes this doesn't work. Does someone know why? It's a little bit of a pain to have to go to View every time this happens.

May I ask if it happens always?

Sometimes I found out that my Studio 2014 had the same behaviour if I had cut and pasted text with comments on it. Sometimes the pasted comment was there (in yellow colour), but I couldn't edit it either!

I just learnt to not copy/paste text with comments and no problems since then.

Maybe you're doing the same thing…

PS.: there is also the keyboard shortcut ALT+r+i (in the English versión of Studio, probably the same in the Spanish UI). That'd be faster than using the mouse.

  • Hi Jesús!

Thanks for the tip. I've actually found out that highlighting the whole segment doesn't always work, and plus it would be inconvenient in case you have two comments in one segment (it's a whole paragraph). Your shortcut does wonders, but it only works with those comments that are actually editable. Hmmm, I think it just happens with the ones you write and then want to modify quickly, not the ones that had been saved previously, these seem to work just fine. I haven't copypasted text with comments on it, so this doesn't apply to this particular case.

So, for example, if you write a comment and then seconds later notice that it needs more clarification, that comment cannot be easily found and thus edited, I need to go to View > Comments and find it, which is a shame.
