Word 2007 files with text in text boxes/balloons

Question

I have received several Word 2007 files with some text in text boxes/balloons. But when I open the files for translation in Studio 2015 SP2 non of the text in the text boxes/balloons is shown in the source text. Is there a setting somewhere that needs to be set?

I've figured it out this morning. 
 
As I got further down in the file the text in the text boxes suddenly appeared for translation and then came another text box that didn't. When I checked the formatting I saw that all of the text in the missing text boxes was hidden and those that appeared were not hidden. I quickly checked and corrected all the text in all of the text boxes, started a new project with the corrected files and pre-translated the files. All of the text is now there.

Can you share an example of this? Maybe with a new file just containing one of these text boxes/balloons? I just tested this and it worked fine for me so perhaps the object is not what you think it is under the hood? It would help to see an example.
