Hi Michelle,

To paste in a screenshot, click 'Use rich formatting' underneath your message pane.

Then click on the insert/edit media button in the top toolbar that appears. It looks like this:

Then click Browse... and find your image. Click on it then click 'Open'. Then wait.

Once you can see your image in the Preview pane, click on the big green 'Insert' button below it. It will then appear in your current post.

In what way do the sdlxliff files appear corrupt?

Gosh, I've never seen that happen before!

Have you tried ...
- resetting the window layout
- running a Windows repair on Studio via Control Panel > Programs and Features
- changing the font size via File > Options > Font adaptation
- importing the files into a new translation memory then creating new Word and idml files via File > Advanced Save > Save Source As (or asking the client for the original files) and opening those as new sdlxliffs, then pretranslating them using the new memory

In your image, the only segments that are incorrect are those with a bold or coloured font. Is this the same throughout the document?

Have you changed the font size on your system recently? Made any other changes? Are you running the same versions of Windows, Studio, Word & InDesign as the client?

Is it happening in both Word and IDML sdlxliffs and is this with just the one customer's files?

Hi and thanks for your help - really, I am mystified!!!

I did have that (adapt font/color) ticked. I unchecked it and that didn't resolve whether checked or not.

It makes sense that it's a display issue (since the files export properly).

I have tried all of these...

- uninstalled/reinstalled Trados

- reset the window layout

not sure but several people have opened this file successfully, just not me

Hi Michelle,

This can happen if you have poorly designed custom fonts being used in the document.  The resolution is most likely to be change the display settings to show all tags but not formatting (File -> Options -> Editor):

I believe this is only a display issue so removing the wysiwyg effect will allow you to work with the text clearly.
