TM upload issue

Question

Dear all,

I received a TM in txt format. After creating a memory in Studio 2015, I chose upgrade TM in order to upload the client TM and when I chose to add a file based TM, I immediately received this error message after clicking on the TEXT CONVERSION box :

"The translation memory [directory path] could not be loaded: 'Invalid file format - no valid signature found'

And i couldn't upload the txt file.

What should be done?

Just closing this off. The TM was from Wordfast, so the solution was to open the TXT in Wordfast (the demo version can do this), export as a TMX and then upgrade that in Studio. 
 You can tell it's from Wordfast by looking at the first line in a text editor: 
 %20160927~103138 .... %TU=00000303 %EN % Wordfast TM v.546/00 %FR %

Do you know where the TM came from? Many tools use the TXT format but they are not all the same. The only supported TXT format are the ones from the old Trados and WinAlign. Generally TMX is the best format to work with as this is pretty much universal.
