The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\andrews\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12\Plugins\Packages\MyPlugin.sdlplugin' because it is being used by another process

Hi all, this is my first post here, so apologies if it is in the wrong section. I've recently started development on plugins using the Batch Task API. I have successfully created a couple of small things here and there and run them without issues, however, whenever I compile a plugin from Visual Studio 2015, I get the error above. I've heard that this is a bug with either the Batch Task API or SDL Studio, but I was wondering if there was any workaround. I'm trying to streamline my debugging process and since the build fails, I am unable to quickly build the plugin and launch SDL studio through VS while starting up the debugger.

Does anyone know of any solutions to this?

Thanks,

Andrew

  • Hi, Paul,

I got the same error message yesterday after I downloaded a trial version online. As you may know, I was having problems with Studio 2021 two days ago and haven't heard back from anyone about it. I got the idea of trying to download a trial version, which worked, thank God. However, I get the above error message. The error message froze (not responding) when I tried to save it, so I copied it:

    "Error (Not Responding)

The process cannot access the file ‘C:\Users\Mandi\AppData\Roaming\SDL Community\AppStore Integration\Settings\settings.json’ because it is being used by another process."

What do you suggest I do?
