I have a problem with Studio 2015. My projects keep on disappearing from the project list. Every morning I have to fetch them back myself, which takes time. Any solution?

Where are your projects?

For example, if the projects are in a removable external Hard Drive, you may get this behaviour.

The first thing i'd check is if you have access to your server at the time you opem Studio.

If you don't, Studio wont get access to your projects and delete them from the list.

I'd try opening your server via Windows Explorer and waiting until you're granted access before opening Studio. That might be the reason…

Please try this workaround and let us know if it works. If so, the problem has nothing to do with Studio itself.

Hi,

Check if this folder is empty before you start Studio the next time.

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\Studio 2015\Projects

The file projects.xml in that folder contains info on your current projects. If that folder is empty, it might to be something with the computer. If projects.xml itself is empty it might be something with Studio.

You could also try copying projects.xml before you close Studio and place it somewhere else. Then if that folder is empty, copy it back to the above folder and start Studio and see if your projects appear as they should.

I had that problem once and it was related to the access rights to the projects.xml file. If Studio (or you) does not have read+write access to the file, it cannot update your project list.
