Good Morning
There is no Multi-termbase - neither in Studio nor elsewhere.
What you probably mean is a MultiTerm termbase, which is exactly the same you use in Studio.
You can create and edit termbases with Multiterm, while you can also use them in Studio. However in Studio you cannot create a termbase or do any maintenance on it. For creation, maintenance and editing termbases use Multiterm.

Thank you for answering this. I'm still trying to understand this. So the difference is that with the termbase which comes with Studio 11, you cannot create nor do any maintenance? If I wanted to do all these, should I purchase Multi-Term termbase software separately?
No termbases are coming with Studio. You get a termbase there only if you:
- create one yourself or
- get a package from someone with a termbase inside
After having either created or received a termbase, you can use it in Studio for terminology recognition and you can also add terms to this termbase on the fly while translating in Studio.
Studio will not allow you to create a termbase, to edit the termbase definition and to make a maintenance on a termbase. For this tasks you need Multiterm.
You do not need to purchase Multiterm, as it is part of your SDL Trados Studio 2011 license. Just download the installer from your account and install Multiterm.
The only Studio version which comes without Multiterm is Studio Starter.

If you only intend to use a glossary then maybe you can use the Glossary Converter to create your termbase? This allows you to easily convert an excel spreadsheet of terms to a termbase, and vice versa. So you wouldn't need to use MultiTerm in this case... only have it installed.
