Can you update a TM with a file that contains track changes?

Greetings, 
 
 If you have a file in Studio that still has segments with track changes (so the changes have not been accepted or rejected), can you then update your TM with the file as is? 
 If so, are the segments with track changes ignored and excluded from the update? 
 I have been looking for some documentation about it, but no luck so far.

The easiest way to check these things is just try it. If you create a small file with a few segments, add a TM, then translate. Finally turn on track changes and update the TM by confirming the segment then you can see what will happen. 
 
In this case the TM will be updated as if the changes were permanent. A part of me thinks this is wrong and that it should use the original until the changes are accepted, but it doesn't work that way. It's also the same with a batch task update... the changes are assumed to be correct and take precedence in the TM. 
 
If you wish to update your TM and exclude these segments then filter on the segments with Track Changes in them and change the status to draft for example. Then make sure your update excludes draft segments.
