A client is moving from Word/Excel... to Google Docs... in G-Suite. Does Studio 2015 support Google Docs? Does Studio 2017 support Google Docs?

This is what the description says in the Word filetype for Studio 2015: 
 
"Documents created with Microsoft Word 2007-2016, Google Docs and Libre Office 4." 
 
So the answer is probably yes for Word. With Excel we don't state this as we are working on an updated filetype for Excel in the same way we did for Word but I don't know if we will support *.gsheet files... I will check and come back to you. So for Excel I think you'd have to test it. I had a little play and you can download files in Excel format and it seems to work... although the formatting may be a little different:

Hi Franky Seys , 
 
This is about filetypes. So the DOCX is a GoogleDocs DOCX which is a little different to Microsoft. If, like me you have installed Google Drive then your GoogleDOCs storage is just a location on your drive. So I would just take the files, create a Studio project with them (so now they are local anyway) and when I save target I could save direct to my local GoogleDocs location which synchs automatically, or upload the target file to any GoogleDocs location I liked.
