translation results window displays only source

Question

hi everybody, 
 
 When I am translating a document, the translation results window displays only the source segment. I have tried to reset the Windows layout, but to no avail. In the translation results window the TM icons are grey, that is they are not available, so probably this has something to do with my TM settings. 
 Has anyone a guess what I can do?

Very strange indeed. I can't see anything obvious here so I think the next thing to try is a reset as this often fixes the most bizarre things. Can you rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12.0.0.0

Hi Carola, 
 
I must admit it sounds as though you don't have a TM attached at all. Can you share a screenshot of your project settings showing the TM that is attached? Apologies for the dumb question but I cannot think of any other reason for this effect.

Hi Carola, 
 You can recover these. If you open the UserSettings.xml that is in the folder you renamed and look for this section: 
 
 These are the customised settings you have created. Copy this entire section into the new UserSettings.xml that has been created. If you don't see this section in your new file then just copy it to the same location in the new file and then restart Studio.
