Problems with installing SDL Trados 2017

I tried to install SDL Trados 2017 but I received the error message

"This product cannot be installed on am chine that has DLS Trados 2007 on it. Please remove SDL Trados 2007 and retry"

 

"Setup did not ocmplete. The error ist Package SDL Trados Legacy Compatibility Module could not be installed. Schwerwiegender Fehler bei der Installation. Error Number 1603."

 

 I run a programme but there is no Trados 2007 on my computer. The latest version ist 2011 and 2014. Can you please give me advice?

    Maybe try this resolution which used to be the solution for previous versions.

    1. Install the main components of Studio/MultiTerm:

      • All separate installes are available in the Modules folder:

        • SDL Trados Studio 2017: C:ProgramData\Package Cache\SDL\SDLTradosStudio2017\modules:
          • TranslationStudio5.msi
          • WorldServerComponents.msi
          • TradosCompatibility2.msi

        • SDL MultiTerm 2017: C:ProgramData\Package Cache\SDL\SDLMultiTerm2017\modules:
          • MTConvert14.msi (SDL MultiTerm Convert)
          • MTCore14.msi(SDL MultiTerm Core Components)
          • MTStudio14.msi (SDL MultiTerm Desktop)
          • MTWidget14.msi (SDL MultiTerm Widget) - skip this if you don't use the widget
          • MTWordIntegration14.msi (SDL MultiTerm Word integration) - skip this if you don't use MultiTerm in MSWord


    After installing all prerequisites and the main components, SDL Trados Studio and/or SDL MultiTerm should work correctly on your computer.

    I think this is worth a try given your error message.
