When I opened Studio 2011 Freelance Plus, at my Sony Vaio with Windows 7, I got the following message: “An unexpected error has occurred while loading the application plug-ins”, but I could work with it, although some OpenExchange applications did not run, therefore I uninstalled Studio 2011 and Multiterm 2011 and installed them again, first Studio and then Multiterm, with “Run as administrator”.
Then I get the following error: “An unexpected error has occurred while loading the global plug-in services” and later “Object reference not set to an instance of an object” and the Studio 2011 closes and therefore I can not work with it.
1) I deleted C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\9.1.0.0\plugincache.xml, but with no success.
2) Also, I have renamed these three setting files:
Rename the setting files and run a repair installation:
- Close all SDL applications.
- Go to the following folder:
- Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[USER_NAME]\Application Data\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\10.0.0.0
- Windows Vista/7: C:\Users\[USER_NAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\10.0.0.0
- There you will find the following 3 XML files that you should rename, for example with an underscore before the name:
BaseSettings.xml
Plugincache.xml
UserSettings.xml
After you have completed these steps run a repair installation:
- Click on Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features
- In the list of installed programs scroll to the entry SDL Trados Studio 2011 SP2
- Select this entry with a click and then click the Repair button.
- Try launching SDL Trados Studio 2011 SP2 again, but with no success too.
When I go to "Control Panel", instead of SDL Trados Studio 2011 "SP2" I find SDL Trados Studio 2011 "SP2R".
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
María
