Do anyone of the Hall know how that of pseudotranslation go in trados 2015

Dear People Colleagues,

Does anyone of you how that of pseudo translation goes in trados 2015? A colleague has handed me over a text for translating, the key is that I only have to translate the amount of 4000 word and the other will be made for him. I need the explanation for aleatory or deterministic pseudo translation, what I do have to chose and what factor to put.

I will be grateful for an explanation in advance.

  • Dear Jesus,

I'm not 100% sure I understand what you are looking for here, so I'm going to start by pointing you to the product help for 2015:

    producthelp.sdl.com/.../BP_Pseduo.htm

That gives you an idea of the settings involved, but if you want to more about what sort of expansion factors to use for example then you need to provide more information relating to your specific languages.

I think you want to pseudotranslate whatever is left of the files after you have completed the 4000 words you have to do, but I'm wondering if this is the right thing to do? It would be much harder for your colleague to identify what was not done by you if you filled in the empty translations with pseudotranslations (apart from the gibberish language of course!)

So perhaps you can give us a little more information?

    Regards

    Paul
