Is it possible to import a tm from an old version of Trados workbench to SDL Trados Studio 2017 (Starter version). If so, how do I do it?

I am new to SDL Trados Studio. I have the Starter version 2017. I am used to working in Trados Workbench and would like to import a tm from there for an ongoing translation project, so I can continue in Studio. Is it possible with Starter and if so, how do I go about it?

I'm afraid this is not possible with Starter. This is one of the restrictions of that version. You need at least Studio Freelance:

Did you deactivate the Starter edition first? The installers are exactly the same, this is all about the licence. So make sure it is fully deactivated so you are prompted to enter the activation code and then use the code you were given for Freelance.

Hi Diane, 
 
I have reset your licence and currently you have no licences in use. So please can you try this. 
 
1. Start Studio 
2. If it starts without asking for a licence then go to the activation window and deactivate it 
3. Once deactivated, or if it asks for an activation on startup, enter the correct licence code for Freelance 
 
Hopefully this will do the trick. If it doesn't then we'll need to ask licensing to take a look at your setup on Monday. So if it fails please log a case now. This can be achieved really quickly using this link:
