Error when attempting to generate a target file: Expecting element 'NonTranslatableStyleMappingRule' ...

Hello,

When I try to generate a target file, I get the following error message:

Expecting element 'NonTranslatableStyleMappingRule' from namespace 'schemas.datacontract.org/.../Sdl.FileTypeSupport.Filters.MicrosoftOffice.Core.Common'.. Encountered 'Element'  with name 'NonTranslatableStyleMappingRule', namespace 'schemas.datacontract.org/.../Sdl.FileTypeSupport.Filters.MicrosoftOffice.Common'.

I've followed the instructions at http://producthelp.sdl.com/kb/Articles/9480.html, but the string "MicrosoftOffice.Core.Common" is already present (all four instances).

What else could be the source of this problem?

Thanks,

Hanna

  • Hi Hanna,

You should be able to see which filetype settings are used by going to the 'Files' tab and checking under 'File Type Identifier':

Because this came from WS though, I'm not sure if you'll be able to see the filetype settings unfortunately. Either way, the workaround this would be leading to would be to create a TM with that XLIFF and then pre-translate the source file using the other MS Word filetype setting. So you could try pre-translating with both the MS Word 2013 and the MS Word 2016 filetypes and see if this alleviates the problem.

Feel free to send me the file and I could try and fix it, if you'd like.

    Thanks

    Luke
