When the original Word file has a line with a hard return and the segments in the sdlxliff file can't be merged, so I translate the whole sentence in just one segment, or when my source text in Japanese contains reference text in English that I don't want carried over to the source, I change the segment status to translated, leaving it blank. Until now, this merely resulted in a blank line being inserted in the target Word file generated (after pressing shift F12), but since switching to Studio 2017, the source text in Japanese gets carried over to the target file.
Not sure if you can see the image below clearly, but the source segment says "肌悩みは変わるもの。", the target segment is blank and the status has been changed to Translated. Nevertheless, in the Word document generated, "肌悩みは変わるもの。" appeared in the relevant position amid the English text.
This isn't a major issue in a short file, but would be a major pain in the neck to delete each one in a PPT file (where a single phrase can have a few hard returns - don't get me started on incompetent PPT authors!) or long Word file with multiple segments of this nature. Can you fix it, please?
