Studio 2017 not recognising termbase languages

Hi. I need help with an issue. When I select a termbase in a project there are no laguages available in the dropdown menu to select as default languages and therefore term recognition will not open the termbase. Sorry is this question has been answered elsewhere but I could not find it in the forum.

I also have a second issue - when I try to highlight a word/words in the source text to perform a concordance search I get an error message as soon as I left click.

I would be most grateful for any advice regarding these 2 problems.

  • Hi Rose,

Are you sure the languages in your termbase match the ones of your Project? Take note of sublanguage variants as these might impact if you created your termbase with specific variants instead of the more general language group. So en(US), en(GB) etc. as opposed to just EN.

On the error message... it's good to see the error message when you get an error. Although I'm not sure how helpful this will be in this case. Perhaps do a reset to start with and see if this helps. Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0

    Regards
