Edit Google Translate settings in Trados 2015/17

Question

Hello everyone 
 
Google Translate now offers a Premium service, which uses a slightly different URL for the API. The two differences are:

1. Use translate.googleapis.com/ instead of www.googleapis.com/ .
2. Add &model=nmt to the URL.

Is there a way in which I can change the URL that Trados 2015/17 currently uses to the one that the Premium service uses?

I can verify that the built-in Google Translate option in Trados is hardcoded to use 
 www.googleapis.com/.../v2 
and there is no way to change it. 
 
However, the premium edition also has other differences, for example you can send requests back to the server so it can update its translation model and the response from the server includes "'model': 'nmt'". 
This will require more than just updating the URL.

Hello Samuel, 
 I guess you could use the APIs to create your own plugin for this and then you could have it as soon as you could complete the code (or carry on with your Autoit scripts). 
 Alternatively there are a couple of other options: 
 1. Wait for the core product to include this option... no idea where this would sit in the priorities but I have asked 
 2. We extend the MT Enhanced plugin to support this version as the code is open source 
 In fact any developer could tackle this either with a new plugin or extending the MT Enhanced version. So no big deal really if there is enough interest. Putting into the core product would mean we need a business case for it... using the APIs means we don't!

 Most MT providers are using NMT already, or looking at it. Once it becomes available as a production feature and not a Beta then it will get added into the product. If you really want NMT now maybe try the Microsoft Translator plugin on the appstore as this is already in production and supported.
