I would first try the View -> Reset Window Layout and see if this helps.  If it doesn't then can you try a Studio reset? Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0

ok - one more thing if you don't mind.  Can you click on customise the quick access toolbar here in the top left of your screen:

Then reset the custom ribbon groups here:

If this doesn't work either then I think you should log an installation issue support case so a support engineer can look at your system.  For licensing or installation issues that prevent you from working we have a route for all customers to get help. This can be achieved really quickly using this link:

Just fill in the form and submit it. Make sure your email address is entered correctly or nobody will be able to get back in touch with you.

Hi Sarah,

Taking a bit of a wild guess here, but could you try disabling the bookmarks plugin and seeing if that helps?

1. Go to

C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0

2. Open the plugincache.xml file

3. Make sure the file looks like the following (If you already have other disabled plugins, then you only need to add the "PluginState" line)

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

<PluginCache>

 <PluginState pluginId="Sdl.TranslationStudio.Plugins.Bookmarks" enabled="False" />

</PluginCache>

Also, if you have any other third-party plug-ins they could possibly be the cause.
