Different problem with save target as - no error message but it's simply not THERE

Question

I use Studio 2015. I have just had a problem with a new project. I set the project up, added a word doc. Translated it. Saved it as bla bla 2016. However, Studio 2015 shows me an old version from 2014 of that word doc. What is going on? I gave it a totally different name. When I saved the target into another folder on my C drive (i.e. NOT into the studio projects folder as suggested by SDL) at least it is THERE and I can open it. But the Studio file does not show it. 
 
 Any thoughts?

I'm afraid I don't really know how best to answer this one, and I'm not sure I really understand the problem here. Certainly Studio is not going to create a project with an older version of the file than the one you used... this is impossible. Perhaps you can take me though this in small steps... as if you are trying to teach me how to see what you see? Then it might give me a clue... sorry.
