Translating Multilingual TMX files with Studio - can I generate one complete TMX with all languages?

Hello all!

I have a client who has sent me a Multilingual TMX to translate into 4 languages. This is an example of what they have provided to me:

    <tuv xml:lang="FRENCH"><seg>FOLDING C4</seg></tuv>
    <tuv xml:lang="GERMAN"><seg>FOLDING C4</seg></tuv>
    <tuv xml:lang="ITALIAN"><seg>FOLDING C4</seg></tuv>
    <tuv xml:lang="SPANISH"><seg>FOLDING C4</seg></tuv>
</tu>

The translation went ok, using the TMX file settings. But how can I get it back into a multilingual format, where the corresponding translations go in their appropriate location?

I'm currently using Studio 2014 SP2, but have access to Studio 2015. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi Mindy, 
 
I guess you had to create four projects for this then... one for each pair and one after the other? If you did this then when you save the target file the languages will go into the right place. Then use this target file for the next language pair. 
 
If however, you handled these as separate projects with different translators and now have four translated files which need merging into one then you will have to start with the first one, create a new project in the next language, add your TMX as the TM and upgrade it, then pretranslate the file to replace the translation. Save the target then repeat for the next language... etc. 
 
I'm guessing the latter is your problem?

I suggest mapping the tmx file in Excel as an XML datasource. Then use bilingual excel filetype to translate each language pair. You still need 4 different projects but you do not have to wait one to end before starting others. Once each lang pair translation is complete, you can place them in one excel file and export it as tmx. If this method is complex for you, I can prepare the files on my side.
