Translation Memory

Hi - I've just purchased the new 2017 sdl studio tool. I have opened a TM (previously used with 2011) but there seems to be no coordination between the file open in editor and the TM - I have entire segments which I know I have translated before but there is no concordance when I open them. The only way I can find the translation is by running a search in TM. Why are the two not working together? I have also checked in settings and the file appears to be enabled as usual.

Anyone any ideas ?

thanks

  • Hi Mairi-Claire,

This can happen for various reasons, but maybe trying some of the following will help:
    1. Is the TM local or on a network drive? Try making sure it is local and not in a read-only folder.
    2. Go to "Translation Memories" view and select "Upgrade Translation Memories" from the ribbon to upgrade the TM.
    3. Separate the "Translation Results" window from the other windows.
    4. By default the match percentage is set to 70%, try changing it to a lower value.
    5. Is the TM set to "Update"? Try changing the settings here.

If none of the above helped, could you post a screenshot showing your issue?
