Error when importing a World Server package

I am receiving a package that I guess to be a world server package. It ends with the extension .wswz. I am using STUDIO 2015 SR2 release 12.2.5099.5 on a Windows 8 PC.

When i open the package i get an error when it starts importing the package Could not load file or assembly 'ICSharpCode.SharpZiplib.Version=1.0.6052.29101. etc.. etc..

I have attached the image of the screen

This was working fine until about two weeks ago.

Help ?

Ivan

  • Hi Jesse, I did what you suggested and downloaded the WorlderverComponent KB9268-8.msp dated December 7.
It did not do the trick, still cannot open the damned package.
What I did is that I opened the package with STUDIO 2017 and it worked, I translated the stuff and sent back a package to my customer in Denmark, but they seem to be all out of the office.
    Is it:
-that I need to run the installer as an administrator (which I do not remember how to do)
    -should I reboot?
Both ? Put a candle to Paul?
Sorry for getting back to your guys so late, I did not get any notification.
This is a day with poor luck,
if you have any brilliant idea, I would love to hear it.
Since I am sure that this thing was working like a charm at mid December.
    Kind Regards
    Ivan

  • Hi Ivan,

I looked at your error message in detail.

It is basically saying you are missing (or have an older version of) the "ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll", but I have no idea why!

The latest update will not work as it does not include the above DLL you need. Also, I have no idea which update included the DLL and it would take time to look through each one, so I just grabbed the DLL from my PC (which I checked is the right version):

    ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll.zip

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio4 and overwrite the DLL there with this one (make sure you make a backup copy of the original first in case you want to restore it).
This should solve the problem in your error message. However, I don't know if you are missing other DLLs also, so let me know if you get other error messages.
