Project Templates, Task Sequences and Batch Tasks

We use multiple project templates to control our translation projects. What I would like to achieve, is to have one project template that has a Finalize task squence with a certain set of batch tasks and another project template that also has a Finalize task sequence, but with different batch tasks. I have tried everything but this does not seem possible. The only thing I seem to be able to do is create a customized Finalize task sequence and add the required batch tasks. This means I have two Finalize task sequences in all my project templates. This does not seem ideal as it means the translator has to remember to select the right Finalize task sequence.

Does anyone how to solve this problem? Or it it possibly a change request for SDL?

Best regards,

Robert

  • Hi Robert,

Something doesn't seem right here at all to me. It seems the project settings apply globally, so I created a new Finalise task and deleted the original from my project template. This actually removed the task from Studio altogether... not what I was expecting to see.

I'll pick this up with development and come back to you. But for now I think you'll have to use two tasks and name them to be easy to pick, or maybe try playing around with user profiles. That might allow you to do this, but could be more messing around than you really want.

    Regards
