I believe there is work underway to provide an updated filetype that can be used for subtitling across all the products.  I'm not sure when this will be released, but it is being developed.

Do you think that once developed the new filter will be automatically integrated across all the products? Or does it mean that we would need to pay SDL Professional Services to do it?

When I asked SDL Support team, they told me that SDL PS would need to intervene.

I believe the intention is for this to work across all products.  I imagine Support were referring to making the one on the appstore work for WS.
