Do you use Trados Studio already and are you a translator?

Yes, I use Trados Studio 2021 and I am a translator. 

I downloaded and installed the SDL Trados Subtitling Plugin. When I tried to start SDL Trados I received the message "Service 'Sdl.Desktop.Platform.CommandBars.IActionService' could not be started."

Then I deleted the Plugin folder hoping to get my SDL Trados 2021 back to work, with no success.

Now, I cannot use my SDL Trados!

I can see a lot of translators are suffering from his problem. But, I could not see a solution in the Community Platform.

I wonder why, if RWS administration knows that the Subtitling Plugin is so problematic, why they keep suggesting using it without removing the problems first. 

After all these calls for help, is there a concrete solution to this error? I would be grateful for your help.

The subtitling plugin works just fine. When you get this error removing the plugin isn’t enough. You need to carry out a reset as well and then you can reinstall the plugin. Try reading this KB for more details:

Thanks for your help. I got my Trados 2021 working again.

But, the Subtitling Plugin is not downloading. ]

It says "downloading is starting" but nothing downloads.

Please, can you help?

If you are doing this through the appstore website it may be a browser security thing.  Have you tried using the integrated appstore in Trados Studio?  Much easier and convenient.

Thank you for your help.

I managed to install the SDL Subtitling app within SDL Trados program.

I also was able to install 4 out of 5 filetypes. The 5th one was problematic.

It was freezing my computer whenever I tried to install SBV File Type.

Could you, please, help with this one.

You don't need to install all the filetypes available on the appstore.  In Trados Studio 2021 the following filetypes are available out of the box:

*.srt;*.vtt;*.sbv;*.sub;*.ttml;*.xml;*.dfxp

*.stl and *.ass are the only formats not supported out of the box.
