Symptoms:
This article covers a few issues that have been addressed as a batch.
- For segments receiving 100% matches from a translation memory applied offline (for example, in SDL Trados Studio) that were not locked by the user, SDL TMS was incorrectly locking those matches when the bilingual file was being uploaded to SDL TMS.
- For segments that received auto-propagation, the rebuild translation step was incorrectly locking those segments.
- For custom file types that use an Options XML file containing non-default options that can be configured in SDL Trados Studio, SDL TMS was still applying the default setting for those options.
For the first two issues, SDL TMS was considering whether the Organization option called Lock 100% TM matches was enabled or not and was applying this setting irrespective of the way the 100% matches would get into the task.
For the third issue, SDL TMS was ignoring the non-default options that users had specifically selected when creating the .SDLFTSETTINGS file in SDL Trados Studio. When making use of that file in a custom file type in SDL TMS, the options applied were actually the default ones.
Resolution:
For the first two issues, SDL TMS now applies the Organization option to lock 100% matches only for matches returned at the pre-processing step and not via uploads or rebuild mechanism.
For the third issue, SDL TMS now also takes into account the non-default options selected when creating the Option XML file in SDL Trados Studio, when one of the following Pre-Processing Tools is selected in the Add file type page:
- Delimited Text v 2.0.0.0
- Html File v 2.0.0.0 with predefined/custom HTML4/5 configuration
- RegEx v 1.0.0.0
- XML v 1.3.0.0/XML v 1.2.0.0 with default embedded content processor whether PlainText or HTML4/5
- XML v 1.3.0.0/XML v 1.2.0.0 with custom embedded content processor
SDL-hosted customers should contact SDL Support to arrange for the hotfix to be deployed.
Customers who host SDL TMS themselves should download the installer for SDLTMS11.0 Hotfix for TMS-5287 8294.exe
from the following FTP site: ftp://sdlpatches:5dlpatch35@ftp-emea.sdlproducts.com/SDL TMS/11.0/Hotfix.
Note:
This issue was detected in a previous version of SDL TMS. Per SDL Engineering policy, the Engineering team provides hotfixes for the latest release of SDL TMS to encourage our customers to run the latest version of SDL TMS to benefit from the latest features and fixes.
This fix is known to produce some message processing performance issues for tasks using the above mentioned file types.
