Symptoms:
Your SDL TMS server is running TMS 11.0 and its Combined Hotfix 1 for defects TMS-5287 and TMS-8294
from this post.
After applying this hotfix, actions like Task Upload, Pre-processing or Rebuild Translation were very slow for tasks using any of the following file types:
- Delimited Text v 2.0.0.0
- Html File v 2.0.0.0 with predefined/custom HTML4/5 configuration
- RegEx v 1.0.0.0
- XML v 1.3.0.0/XML v 1.2.0.0 with default embedded content processor whether it is PlainText or HTML4/5
- XML v 1.3.0.0/XML v 1.2.0.0 with custom embedded content processor
Explanation:
While implementing the fix from this post for the above mentioned file types, the new way of handling filters introduced a performance issue. On some environments, the Task Upload, the Pre-Processing and the Rebuild Translation actions can take up to 20 minutes for a single file.
Resolution:
At the moment, there is no solution yet that combines both the file type custom options support and an optimal performance for these files in a single fix. Therefore, you need to make a choice. Here are the options and the actions to be taken:
- Having the file types custom options respected is more important than the performance
ACTION: if you have the combined hotfix from this post, then do nothing - Having high performance is more important than having the custom file type settings respected
ACTION: apply the revert fix available on the FTP site mentioned below.
NOTE: As the initial fix from this post was a combined hotfix, this revert fix keeps the solution for the 100% matches but reverts the part that dealt with custom file type settings.
If option 2 is the better option, choose from the following actions:
SDL-hosted customers should contact SDL Support to arrange for the revert fix to be deployed.
Customers who host SDL TMS themselves should download the installer for SDLTMS11.0 Hotfix for TMS-8294 and revert for TMS-5287.exe
from the following FTP site: ftp://sdlpatches:5dlpatch35@ftp-emea.sdlproducts.com/SDL TMS/11.0/Hotfix.
UPDATE: A perfomence-effient fix has now been released. See this post.
Note:
This issue has been introduced with the Combined Hotfix 1 for defects TMS-5287 and TMS-8294 for SDL TMS 11.0.
The SDL TMS Engineering team is working on providing a solution that will address both issues in a concurrent manner. A subsequent fix will be issued when available
