Trados Studio 2022 SR2 -- for World Server extracted projects only SDLRPX option

With Studio 2022 SR2, the Trados Studio <> World Server transfer is lost, as the downloaded WSZX packages only allow SDLPPX to be generated for our vendors, from which traditional SDLRPX is then returned.

However, SDLRPX cannot be uploaded to the World Server. Is there a way to embed WSZX throughout the process as before? Can you please advise?

  • Dear  I am not sure what you mean by "downloaded WSZX packages only allow SDLPPX to be generated for our vendors". It should not be necessary to export WorldServer (Studio) project to Studio project packages. Or if you do and then receive a Studio Return package, you should be able to import it back to your WorldServer (Studio) project and then create a correct WorldServer Return package out of it.

Have you (or your vendors) installed the WorldServer components? They are needed to be able to open WorldServer (WSXZ) packages and create WorldServer Return packages. A WorldServer Return package will have the extension *.sdlrpx.wsxz. If the WorldServer components are installed, you will see 2 buttons: "Open WorldServer Package" and "Create WorldServer Return Package".

Please follow the steps described in this article:

We strongly recommend following the correct process, as described in the article and sending the WSXZ packages to your vendor as they are so they can open them, translate and send you the correct Return package for you to upload to WorldServer.

However, if you now have only the *.SDLRPX package from your vendor, extract the translated SDLXLIFF file from it, zip it, rename the zip file to *.wsxz and import it as a Return package to WorldServer. If the SDLXLIFF file is the same one that was originally exported from WorldServer, and if the sdlxliff file does not have any other issues, the upload/import to WorldServer will work.

    I hope this helps you!
