Tridion Docs 15.1 Update 1 Released!

Tridion Docs 15.1 Update 1 Released!

We are excited to announce the release of Tridion Docs 15.1 Update 1! This update includes the long-awaited Metrics feature, along with several other enhancements.

Metrics

The new Metrics feature allows technical documentation leads and information architects to measure content reuse, identify cost savings from structured content, and evaluate team efficiency and productivity across business units.

This feature simplifies reporting and analytics, offering several benefits, including out-of-the-box reports, the ability to track content reuse and Return on Investment (ROI), and insights into cost savings from structured content. It also helps validate team performance and productivity across different business units.

Organize Space Enhancements

  • Metrics Integration: The Metrics feature is now available within Organize Space.
  • Efficient Image Browsing: Locating images is now simpler with the grid view, which allows users to quickly browse and preview all images in a folder at once.
  • Enhanced Action Toolbar: The action toolbar is more user-friendly, with labels displayed next to the icons for easier access.
  • Faster Item Selection: Adding a map or resource to a publication, or adding a publication to the Publication Hub, is quicker with the Locate function in the item selector modal when users have the identifiers.

Collective Spaces Enhancement

  • Detailed Image Reviews: Collective Spaces users need a way to see images in more detail in some specific conditions, as the document view shows images at a lower resolution and offers limited space. To solve this, we’ve added a new "View image in review resolution" option in the right-click menu for images in both Draft and Review Spaces. This option lets users view images at a higher resolution in a new browser tab when they need to see finer details. This feature is supported by the "reviewresolution" setting in the Collective Spaces tab in the Organize Space - XML settings menu.

New Release Vehicle: "Update"

In the 15.1 release, we introduced the foundation for several new features. Now, with our fully automated new release vehicle called the "Update," these features are complete. Moving forward, we’ll continue to release updates to provide the latest product fixes, third-party library updates, security patches, and platform improvements.

All the enhancements for Content Manager, Organize Space, Collective Spaces, and details about the new release vehicle are explained in the following Bootcamp video. News from Genius

Organizations need to ensure users can easily find the right information. Delivery of technical documentation often focuses on search, but many tasks require more than a single page. Each user’s goal is unique, making it hard to design content for every path. Just before summer we released the initial version of Tridion Docs Genius. Our AI-Powered Knowledge Hub improves content discoverability and presents it in an accessible, trustworthy format, supporting user goals.

In this latest update, we improved accessibility support for screen readers and keyboard support, and we added authentication to the package. This means we now provide Genius in two flavors. The generic one for public content with no authentication, and a “Secure/High Value Content” setup for content that is not public. For example, content that our customer publishes for other teams in their company, or restricted content for their partners. This authentication capability is the first step towards a full permissions/authorization model for diverse groups to access different content in a future update.

  • The new release vehicle adds some nice flexibility in terms of releasing Tridion features. It's not always easy to plan an entire platform upgrade, especially around production content updates (that don't seem to stop). And of course Genius being a SaaS solution makes updates for the portal itself "just" part of the service and experience!
