How can I force synchronization in publication manager?

This comes up a lot. The DTD has changed or MetadataConfig.xml has changed. How do I force publication manager to synchronize with the server?

  • Hi Kendall,

This should happen automatically when you first open a client tool. If a file changes on the server while the client tool is open, you will need to exit and restart the client tool. If the file on the server is more recent then the client it should automatically sync. If the file on the client is more recent you should get a prompt to pick which file you want.

This files that are tag to be synchronized from the server to the client are configured in the <INFOSHARE>\Web\Author\ASP\ClientConfig\SyncInfo.xml

With clean-up we can force a full file synchronization if needed, but not normally necessary.

    Best regards
