Of course you could remove the single quote, but I think I have a better option. You are currently trying to configure something using the label/value of your configuration (probably something with a single quote). The system however also holds an identifier (typically called element name) that you should use in configuration files. This element name will not change when you change the label of your existing output format, so also requires you to do less changes.

You probably already know about element names as the GUID of your topics, where you can happily change the title (FTITLE field) without consequences. Now for more controlled values like users, usergroups, userprofiles, outputformats, lovs we generate a somewhat more readable element name. That element name strips tough characters (like single quote, spaces and more) and does base32 encoding for real weird characters. In the end it is still somewhat readable, so Output Format with label "PDF (A4 Manual)" (at creation time) will get element name "VOUTPUTFORMATPDFA4MANUAL" which way easier to work with in configuration files. And if somebody changed the label, you don't have to adapt your configuration file.
