Can Tridion CMS topics have special characters in Title e.g. %2f

Hi,

I have come across a series of topics in a publication that include %2f in their titles. These topics are being used to link to from other topics.

These topics are causing problems during the topicpull process e.g.

[topicpull] file:/C:/InfoShare/Data/Publish/Data/jpbpjdzxp20/work/1/de-DE/GUID-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx=2=de-DE=.xml:3:1380:

[DOTX031E][ERROR]: The file GUID-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx=2=de-DE=.xml is not available to resolve link information.

Is there a correlation between these characters in a topic title and failures during publishing?

HI Ann, I would not expect the characters to be the issue in this cause. My assumption is based on the fact that the title information is not included in the exported filenames. It is just the GUID-xxx…

I would not expect the characters to be the issue in this cause. My assumption is based on the fact that the title information is not included in the exported filenames. It is just the GUID-xxx-xxx=....xml which is not including the special characters.

When I search the internet for the error reported above I do see some references to a known issue causing this issue when you use the xref in the shortdesc (short description) of a topic.

Can you verify and see whether this is the pattern that you see happening here as well.
