Do you use complex conditions?

Hello community,

I'm Gizem Karabulut, a product owner for Tridion Docs.

We are considering a new feature that would enable authors to apply conditions when writing content in Draft Space. I would like to ask the following questions to gain a better understanding of your use cases:

  • Do you use complex conditions (combining multiple conditions with "And" or "Or") to filter your content?
  • If you use complex conditions, how often do you need to apply them? Does every publication have them or just a few?
  • Would your SME authors appreciate the ability to apply these complex Boolean conditions within Draft Space, or would that be too much complexity?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

  • Hi Gizem, we do use complex conditions, with both AND and OR, which tends to be needed when using one base publication for several product models. I would not ask the SMEs to set conditions on content, but it would be great if it was very clear in Review (and Draft) Space which parts are conditionalized. When reviewing it is important to understand what will be included and what will not be included. It is good if it is possible to review the full scope of the publication with all conditionals included, to get the full overview of what is the same and what is different for the different product models.
