How can we provide user friendly feedback on a failed Publish event in Tridion Docs?

Hi,

We are customizing a transform triggered from a Pu Man publish event so that it fails the build.

We are adding output to the DITA-OT log with error details using information from generated PublishReportItems.xml.

However, we would like a more push style of informing our publishers rather than asking them to go to DITA-OT log to find error messages.

Is anyone using this information to push messages to publishers when publish event fails for a custom reason?
