I am using Studio 2021 and we have one license. My wife has been using 2019, but had to reinstall Windows 11 and now we don’t have a license key to activate 2019. What do we have to do to either activate 2019 or purchase an extra activation for 2021?
You currently own Trados 2021 Freelance Plus (so 2 activations for 2021). Please note that you purchased an upgrade, not a separate license, so your license rights do not extend upon Trados 2019. You can try and install Trados 2019 on the PC where you have Trados 2021 installed and activated, you do not need an activation code for it. But please note we cannot guarantee the functioning of the old license. As per our terms and conditions, you only own Trados 2021 Freelance Plus.

Freelance Plus versions have 2 activations by default. Both of your activations are in use. You upgraded from Trados 2019, so you won't be able to use Trados 2019 on a PC that does not have Trados 2021 installed and activated. Please note an upgrade is different than purchasing a separate license, so your license rights only extend upon Trados 2021 Freelance Plus.

It says we have "0" available, so if I click "Reset license", then I can activate both my wife's computer as well as my computer?

Incorrect. Technically yes, but legally no as this would be breaking the EULA.

Yikes! Sorry about showng the activation code, I didn't know! Thanks for your reply, Paul. If we have two activations, then how do we use them both, one each on separate computers?

The point is two activations but only one license. So the only advice I can give you is that this is intended for you to use as follows:
If you want to be able to have your wife use one while you use the other then you need two licences, not just two activations. If you don't do that then you are breaking the end user license agreement.

OK, so how do i activate Studio on a laptop and a desktop?
You have a Freelance Plus license. This give you two activations. So you activate it on your laptop, and then using the same activation code you activate it on your desktop.
I'm sure you are not asking me the right question because you have already activated the license twice as we can see in your screenshot. Let's go back to your original question before this got complicated!

Was your wife using 2019 with her own license? If she was then just create a new thread and ask for her license to be reset. You need a new thread because we have an automated solution for raising these requests from the community and it should be related to the person who creates the thread as we pass the logged in details over to support so they know who to deal with.
