why do you want to deactivate it?

If you upgraded then your 2021 licence won’t exist anymore because you part exchanged it for the 2024 which is now active. Good news is you can continue to use 2021 as well, at least until you move computers or have a crash.

If you purchased a new licence so you really do have two then we might need to log a ticket if you can’t deactivate it.

Thank you for replying so promptly!

My scenario is an upgrade from an existing license. I want to deactivate my 2021 license because it says so in the instructions (see link).

Also, when I open Studio, it still has the old license number and nothing seems to have changed. And the icon on my desktop still says Studio 2021.

One more addition: Step 3 of the instructions in the link is not possible, as far as I can see, because the older license has not been deactivated and there is nowhere I can copy/paste my new licensing code to.

ok - in this case just read my initial reply again.

The only thing you have to do in reality is process the upgrade in your RWS Account, and you must have done this, or you wouldn't be able to licence 2024.  When you do this your old licence is gone, whether you deactivated it or not, and it's replaced with the new one.

So if you didn't deactivate it... and I would always suggest to users that they don't... you have a fall back while you get used to working with the new version.  Both of them will run quite happily together.  You'll never be able to use the old licence on another computer as it has gone, but as long as you leave it on your current machine your old software will also keep working.

My suggestion is you stop worrying about it!
