GroupShare Cloud crashing almost everyday

Hello,

We cannot connect to GroupShare. This is a quite recurring, time-consuming and severe issue, not only because it obviously prevents us from updating our GS TMs in real time, but also because Studio crashes and we lose a lot of time waiting for it to return to normal state.

Yet, the problem is not only that. If you launch Studio and, on the GroupShare login dialog you explicitly indicate that you do NOT want to login because you already know that there are connection problems, Studio STILL tries to connect, crashes and there is nothing that can be done until it recovers from this loop, and it takes ages :(

Is there any way to correct this behavior ourselves?

If not and there are not any plans to fix this recurring error in GS platform in the near future, could sthis Studio behavior at least be fixed?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Parents
  • Dear Carmen

I handled your case you logged (thank you for logging this via the support portal!).
As mentioned, the problem was solved and connecting to GroupShare Cloud is possible again.

Regarding the mentioned behavior, I can reproduce this and indeed, this is not optimal.

I will forward this to our Development Team for further investigation.

    Kind regards

  • Thank you Steven and Richard for your answers.

Indeed, we noticed that connectivity issue resolved about 30 minutes or so after we started to experience this problem.

Thank you for forwarding the issue with the odd behavior to the Dev team, Richard. I hope this can be fine-tuned for future Studio updates :).

Regarding GS Cloud connectivity issues, we are experiencing such kind of issues quite often. Luckily, as in this case, they do usually not last for too lengthy periods of time, but they generally imply a minimum downtime of about 15-30 minutes, both for our internal and external resources.

If we take into account that such issues occur with a more-than-acceptable recurrence during a week, this downtime multiplies exponentially and results in hours of monthly productivity losses globally. Curiously enough, such connectivity issues usually occur between 9 and 11 h (CEST) approx. Just a guess, but perhaps there is some recurring problem during that timeframe that causes GS Cloud connectivity to be temporary lost (too many users connecting for GS Cloud servers’ capacity to handle, maybe?).

We do hope that these connectivity problems can be diminished to an acceptable rate in the near future so that we can keep satisfactorily using GS as a tool to enhance and streamline our collaboration among internal and external resources, TM management processes and productivity as a whole.

Thank you for taking this issue in consideration.
