Does the Antidote Verifier plugin support the new Antidote 12?

Does the Antidote Verifier plugin support the new Antidote 12? I am using Studio 2021 SR2. I have already asked Druide, the makers of Antidote, but they are deferring to RWS for confirming the plugin compatibility, as Trados AppStore is the author of the plugin.

  • Hello Oana,
Based on all the information since my fist post, are you able now to confirm full compatibility of the Antidote plugin with Studio? I have since bought a licence for Studio 2024, but I am not installing it until I know for sure it going to work with the Antidote plugin with the new Antidote 12. Current setup is Antidote 11 with Studio 2021.

  • Hi Oana,

I've tried for the past week to reply, but I get this message: "You cannot currently message this user, either you do not have permission or the user is not accepting messages."

I can't reply to your direct message. I tried to reinstall Trados and reconfigure it from scratch. Now I can no longer access MultiTerm (directly or to create term records within Trados 2024) or Antidote, whose plugin will no longer install without causing Trados 2024 to crash.

We are at the point that only someone taking remote control of my computer is going to be able to resolve this issue.

  • Hi Oana,

It turns out that the installation of the Antidote Verifier had somehow become corrupted.

The solution entailed NOT having Trados Studio running and running this program:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Trados\Plugin installer\Sdl.Community.SdlPluginInstaller.exe

Run the program at that path and click on the "Uninstall" beside Antidote Verifier.

Then reinstall the Antidote Verifier from the App Store and click on the green link at the top of the AppStore screen prompting you to restart Trados.

Upon restart, it is very important to note that the icons for Antidote may appear only on the Add On tab rather than on the Review tab. In my case, I now have to run Antidote 11 from the Add On tab, but that's not a big deal. It works the same way as before.

Using FreshStart did not solve my problem: without running the above SDL Community SDL Plugin Installer app, I would never have been able to completely uninstall the corrupted version of the plugin and regain my critical access to Antidote 11

I want to acknowledge the concerns raised about Antidote V12 and Trados Studio 2024 compatibility. There have been some posts in the RWS Community and on social media, but I want to be clear—we don’t yet have enough concrete evidence to confirm that V12 is NOT incompatible with Studio 2024.

As an app provider, we’ve reached out to Druide, and neither of us is aware of specific reasons why issues are being reported. That said, I take this seriously and want to get to the bottom of it.

I know some of you have reported crashes and errors, and I’ve seen mentions of a "corrupt plugin" and cases where refreshing Studio seemed to help. However, these posts don’t provide the detailed data we need to investigate properly, nor do they confirm whether refreshing the installation paths actually resolved the issue.

Right now, we need screenshots of the errors and, more importantly, the log file from:
    Open file folder C:\Users]\AppData\Roaming\Trados AppStore\AntidoteVerifier\Logs

If you’re experiencing issues, please share this information—it’s the only way we can analyse what’s happening at a code level. We’ve also got an open dev item for this: SDLCOM-6447, which will be assigned as soon as we have enough data to move forward.

I completely understand the frustration and want to reassure you that this isn’t being ignored. We just need the right information to investigate properly.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Hello,

Any updates on the compatibility between Trados 2024 and Antidote? Oana’s last post was 10 months ago, and since then, Trados 2024 SR1 has been released. Is the issue limited to Antidote version 12?

I’m currently using Antidote 11 with Trados 2022, and everything works perfectly. I recently purchased Trados 2024 and came across this post. I’d prefer to keep using Antidote 11.

I understand that Druide’s website states Antidote 11 is only compatible with Trados 2022, while version 12 is supposed to work with Trados 2024—but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

So, is it possible to continue using Antidote 11 with Trados 2024 SR1? Is upgrading to Antidote 12 truly necessary, assuming it actually works?

I'd really appreciate any feedback from users who’ve tested Antidote 11 or 12 with Trados 2024 SR1.

Has anyone managed to get a stable integration? Any tips or workarounds would be welcome. Thanks in advance!

  • Hello Patrick,

As far as I am concerned, I am still running Antidote 11 with Studio 2024 and all is running well. I am awaiting a clear confirmation of version compatibility before installing Antidote 12.

  • Hi Cylvie,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I’ve just installed a trial version of Trados 2024 SR1 along with the Antidote Verifier 4.1 plugin. I can confirm it works perfectly with the latest version of Antidote 11. I opened an older project of about 2,000 words that included a few tags, made some edits, saved them, and returned to the Trados interface—no issues at all.

    Thanks again!

    Patrick
