I have installed Studio 2019 SR1 and now when I try to check SDL Language Cloud in project settings I get the message that I am not subscribed and I am prompted to visit my account, and when I do so the account shows as active with the number of characters I am allowed for the month.
Anyone has similar problems?

Try signing out of the Language Cloud in Studio as shown below, then signing in again:

I looked into this and it seems it was a subscription issue.
Language Cloud has a Free Trial Subscription only for the Online Translation Editor that is not compatible with Trados Studio. It is a bit confusing as Free Trial is not compatible with Trados Studio, and you have to choose the Free from the SDL Trados Studio category of subscriptions in Language Cloud account.
So the solution was to activate the Free subscription which is included with any Trados Studio license.
