We cannot see anything special influencing the situation. Just ALL "+" signs disappear. See the following text as an example:
Original: В работе [23] изучался химический и фазовый состав продуктов горения тройной системы (100 – х)(Ti + C) – x(Ti + 2B) в широком диапазоне изменения x, а также зависимость скорости горения от состава.
Translation: In work [23] the chemical and phase composition of the combustion products of the ternary system (100 – X)(Ti C) – x(Ti 2B) over a wide range of changes x, as well as the dependence of the burning rate on the composition.
