The MultiTerm termbase format has been the same since MultiTerm 2009.  So if you can't open it at all it may be corrupt.  Presumaby you have the *.sdltb?

thank you for the prompt reply. It is good to know that the format has been the same since MT2009. I had the (wrong) impression that I was dealing with an obsolescence issue because I received the following message: This termbase cannot be opened because it has been created with an unsupported version of MultiTerm. And no matter how I try, I can't open it. And, indeed, I have the .sdltb. Can you please advise?

That's the theory.
In real life it's different - there ARE some differences... which make e.g. termbases created in MT 2017 impossible to open in MT 2014.
Strangely enough, opening that termbase in MT 2015 (which automatically causes the termbase to be re-saved!), makes it possible to open in both MT 2014 and MT 2017.

Thank you for the suggestion. But right now I only have 2019, therefore I cannot open the TB in Multiterm 2015 and... I am still waiting for a magic solution from SDL. The TB is not corrupt, that I know for sure. I used it for a couple of years on an almost daily basis, but somehow Multiterm 2019 is unable to open it. I am quite sorry now that I did not keep an older Multiterm version on my PC.

I am actually using Multiterm 2019.
