Can you please make sure your Multiterm and Studio versions are updated both to the same build?

For Studio it should be this one: 

14.1.10016.54660

For Multiterm it should be this one: 

14.2.8.55461

If they are not updated, please do so either using Help Tab>Check for updates or manually from this documentation center:

After doing so try again and let me know if you still have the same issue as before.

Multiterm and Studio versions are now updated both to the same build and the errors have disappeared. However, the term recognition window still refuses to show hits from the termbase in question and that termbase cannot be searched.

Please try to remove the termbase and add it back again. See if this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have already tried that and it did not work.

I asked the client to resend me the termbase in question (it has since been updated by them) and now when I add it I am back to square one: the question/error message and no hits in Studio.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately it did not. Now neither of the termbases are working in Studio!

I have wasted so much non-billable time again this week with trados issues I'm beginning to wonder whether to switch to MemQ or something. Pity, because when it works properly Trados is excellent. But when it doesn't it's a neverending trawl through the internet to try and find a solution and I have neither the IT know-how nor time for all that.

If you have reset/repaired Studio and ensured everything is up to date as suggested by Oana I think it would be good if you attached the full error stack to this thread.

Also- have you removed the project from Studio and recreated this from new?

This might just resolve the problem you are having as you started the project on one version and continued in another, which could have caused the corruption.

Thanks for your reply. I have reset/repaired Studio and the error message no longer appears but the termbase continues not to be recognised in Studio. In fact after Studio stopped working altogether I reset my PC entirely.

I have removed the project from Studio and re-added it but don't understand what you mean by recreate it. Could that be the solution?
