I am logged into SDL Trados Studio 2019 and I tried to open MultiTerm but it fails to open completely. No error message, it seems to be open in the taskbar, but i cannot display the window, when I click on the taskbar it does not open. Last time I used it was last week and it worked fine. Thanks to advise.
Thank you very much to both of you for your responses. When I do right click I only get the three options as per below, then I click on SDL Multiterm 2019 Desktop and the screen opens up for a split second (see second screenshot) and then disappears.
I have rebooted my laptop and logged into SDL Trados Studio and Multiterm, and also I have done it separately and only open Multiterm, and nothing changes.
Not sure whether I would need to reinstall MultiTerm but the version I have in my system is no longer the latest one.

This answer will not be of great help to you at the moment. I had exactly the same problem, as I wrote earlier, with the screen opening for a split second. Right-clicking on the icon in the task bar also only offered the useless 3 options. I then started opening MultiTerm in many other ways I could think of and right-clicked everywhere. I then suddenly had the option to "Maximise". But for the life of me I cannot retrace what I did. I will keep on trying, but maybe someone else can guess what I may have done. This problem really is very annoying. Interfacing with Studio is just not sufficient for me, I have to look up terms separately amoung my 35 000 entries.

It seems it is a bug and is being fixed but in the meantime I got the way to get in. Thanks a lot for your help, Ingrid.
Exactly the same here. I have now followed the instructions from Support so I did rename the MultiTerm hidden file to OLD, went to Programs & Features and click Repair against MultiTerm and now it seems to work. However, and this is my biggest worry right now, when I open my termbases, they do appear EMPTY. I dont want to panic yet. Any ideas anybody ?
I'm sure it wasn't a bug in my case. I think I unintentionally pressed a key combination, minimizing the display. There must be some key combination to maximize it again. A question to the experts! I do hope that your termbases are no longer empty! That would really be a reason to panic!

Yes, I found them in the end, big relief ! It seems that when I did the Repair step it must have changed the source folder back to default and so I could not find my TBs. Regarding the maximize option, Ana said something further up about a workaround to minimize/maximize, I paste it below, in case it helps.
Then, you can try to press ALT + SPACE. This will pop up the current application's System menu--the same one you get if you click the little icon in the window's top-left corner.

I copied this useful workaround and also tried it - it actually works. But what do you do when there is no display at all (as in our sad case) where you could apply this workaround? Since everything works fine again here I'm not going to take any risk trying things out. It seems that all problems are solved now thanks to the MultiTerm community. All this reminded me to backup my termbases again.

Unfortunately I have the same problem again when I try to open MultiTerm. Yesterday evening I shut it down as usual but now it seems to be minimized again. I'm at my wit's end will try the various solutions suggested here when I have the time. ALT+SPACE doesn't help because I just do not see the (hidden) screen and therefore also not the little icon in the top-left corner. Maybe there is a bug after all.
Yes, they said they are working on it and for now they provide this workaround. Please try again by hovering over the minimized task, the option box should still come up and then you could click on maximize. If it doesnt, I'd suggest to raise a case with Support, they are very quick to respond and follow up. Hope you can get it resolved shortly, so frustrating isnt it.
I do hope I found a way to deal with this problem when it pops up the next time. I searched on the Microsoft website for "hidden screens". For several related problems the suggestion was: Shift+right-klick on the icon in the task bar. It worked in my case, although not right away, don't ask me why. Maybe this comment will help others because this does not seem to be a one-time problem.
