Hello,
I have two different glossaries, term bases (sdltb files) and I would like to combine both in a brand new glossary.
How may I do this?
Maybe the conversations from this forum would help - How can I merge two termbases? or Merge/combine term bases
But there is also the option to use the app - glossary converter - https://appstore.rws.com/plugin/194/
Best regards,
Loredana
Hi, thanks but I know how to use the forum and the search function.
I have seen these posts, but the first one is a different case as the term base does not have the same structure and the last one explains how to do this with the glossary converter, however, I would like to do this with Multiterm.
I would appreciate an easy how to guide to Merge glossaries using Multiterm.

Shame you didn't try these suggestions, or at least tell us what you'd tried before you ask, especially if you'd already found them. You could even tell us why you don't know... what's so difficult about the termbases you have? It's hard for anyone to help you if you don't tell them anything relevant at all.
You didn't tell us you don't want to use the Glossary Converter which is by far the easiest way to handle this, even with termbases that are not the same. It would be more helpful if you told us what's different about them? Just the terms, or the languages, or the definition? What is different?

Presumably you also searched the product help and read about creating a new termbase with a definition suitable for importing the data held in the two termbases you wish to merge? You would export the Multiterm XML from the two termbases you wish to merge, then use the new termbase you created with the appropriate definition to import the XML files.
There is no merge capability, only export/import.
The Glossary Converter on the other hand will allow you to simply drag and drop your two termbases; it will display the definition of each one and allow you to redefine as necessary; finally it will create a new termbase merging the two together on whatever criteria you asked for... maybe language if the definitions are completely different.

The explanations given, with due respect, are long and boring. I was expecting an easy how-to, as my time is very limited. I have succeded merging the glossaries by myself, so I have created a vídeo explaining how to merge two different glossaries into a single one, using Excel and the Glossary Converter utility. The video tutorial is here:
It is bilingual although the audio is in Spanish, sadly I did not have time to create a double audio track.
Hope this helps.
