MultiTerm Extract - Excluding "non validated terms" not possible :(

I have "unvalidated terms" in the term list, that should not be included in future term extraction projects:

So I exported these terms into a seperate Termbase:

After this procedure I want to exclude the non-validated terms in another term-list.

Therefor I use the following steps:

I even can show the "non-validated" terms from the "exclude-termbase":

Then I re-processed the list:

But after this procedure the non-validated terms are still there!

I have also tried to exclude these terms, by using a .txt-file instead a "excude Termbase". With the same sad result - the non-validated terms are still in my list. Disappointed

Any suggenstions?

  • Hello,

I understand that you're having trouble excluding non-validated terms from your term extraction projects in MultiTerm. Based on your description, it seems like you've followed the correct steps. However, there might be a few things you could check to ensure the process works as expected:

Step 1: Make sure that the termbase you're using to exclude terms is correctly set up and contains all the non-validated terms you want to exclude.

Step 2: When selecting the termbase to exclude, ensure that you're choosing the correct language for the terms to exclude. This should usually be the same as the source language of your project.

Step 3: If you're using an exclude file, ensure that it's correctly formatted and contains all the terms you want to exclude.

Step 4: Check your learning settings. If you have the 'Record discarded terms' option selected, any terms you reject should be stored in a database and not extracted again. Make sure this is set up correctly.

Step 5: If you're still having trouble, it might be worth trying to create a new project and repeating the process to see if the issue persists.

Remember, the goal is to ensure that the terms you want to exclude are correctly listed in the exclude termbase or file, and that these are correctly linked to your project. If everything is set up correctly, the non-validated terms should not appear in your term extraction results.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
