"Merge Segments" function does not work in my Studio 2017. It's always greyed-out

No matter what I'd do, I don't get "Merge Segments" to work. In the picture below, you can see I already check and uncheck all boxes as recommended in order for this feature to work. However, it DOES NOT work. What am I missing? Needless to say, I have created and recreated projects with this feature to no avail. Any advice? Thanks.

  • Hi ,

The first thing I'd mention is that the only time I have seen this greyed out is when you receive a Project Package where the option was not enabled. This is deliberate behaviour since the Project Manager may not have wanted you to edit the source... although they may have just not been aware of the option and left it at the default!!

If this is happening to projects you have created then perhaps check that you are using a project template from the latest version of Studio and not one you had from a previous version. It's always a good idea to recreate your templates (even though it is a pain!!) because there are often unwanted side effects between versions, especially if new features are introduced that were not even part of the older version of Studio.
