How to solve a problem with update from bilingual review - English into Arabic ?

Hi,

We had a document to translate from English into Arabic (ar-AE). Once the translation was done, we exported in a Word bilingual review document to send it to our client, allow him to make corrections. Then we were planning to update the sdlxliff with the client's corrections and generate the target file.

The fact that it is in Arabic makes it hard for us to understand the problem. It seems like the client did something to the file because all the tags are reversed (which seems normal but because of that, we cannot import the corrections. Is there any way to solve the issue?

The file sent to the client was like this :

for example, tags are <0/>

The file we received from the client is like this:

for example, tags are </0>

It might be a little thing to do in Word to change that but we do no know how to proceed.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Kind regards,

  • Hi Paul,

    Thank you for your answer.
We contacted our client to see what they did with the file because they know they shouldn't touch the tags. What we were wondering as if the change from left to right to right to left had something to do with it. They worked in tracked changes in other segments so we do not understand why the rest of the text changed. Probably some settings linked to the language.

The error message we get from the import is that it could not update the document because the segments do not match the original file and have been changed since the export for bilingual review.

Any way, thanks for your reply.

    Kind regards,
