  • Hello Paul!

I am using the 2017 version. The thing is that I was notified there was an update available and I installed it about three weeks ago. It did not work properly, it showed some other error message about the Studio Api not working and I could not even open the Studio desktop screen, so I uninstalled it and remained using the 2017 original version for the time being, as I did not have the time to work it out at the moment. I worked normally with Studio for the past three weeks with my regular projects but had not tried to import any WorldServer packages until today.

I have also tried to install the update again now and still does not work, I could not even open the software so I uninstalled it once again. I really cannot find a way forward with this! Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks!
  • Hi ,

It sounds as though you need to do two things:

    1. Clean out Studio and MultiTerm altogether
    2. Redownload the latest installers for both applications from your account and install again

The best way to clean everything out is to uninstall and then manually make sure everything has been removed from these locations (apologies for this being so long... wanted to be thorough):

    Uninstall Studio

Manually remove the following folders for Studio if they still exist:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Studio 2017\Projects\projects.xml

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Studio 2017\Project Templates\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\ProjectApi\14.0.0.0\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0\

    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\

    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0\

    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio5\

    c:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio5\

For MultiTerm... uninstall MultiTerm and then remove the following folders if they still exist:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTerm14\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTerm14\

    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTerm14\

    c:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTerm14\

Reinstall both applications, Studio and MultiTerm. If that still fails to help then I'd recommend you log a support case. For licensing or installation issues that prevent you from working we have a route for all customers to get help. This can be achieved really quickly using this link:

    gateway.sdl.com/liveagentlicensing

    You have two options:

    1. Submit a case using a webform
    2. Use live chat to get a licence reset

You need to complete the form and an engineer will get back to you.

    Regards

    Paul
