Can't open packages because of some "access denied"

Question

Hi, it seems other people had this problem before, but I can't find any answers - I've been send two packages today, but Studio (2017) claims it cannot open them because, for some reason, it is denied access to my "My Pictures" folder. The packages are not in that folder; I actually had the problem before, when I tried 2017, and then decided not to upgrade because it didn't work; later I did upgrade because a client asked me to. It then worked - I thought maybe because I had deleted and then reinstalled 2017. I've done that now, but no joy. WIll I actually have to reinstall the entire Windows thing? Did anybody encounter and solve this problem?

I have no idea where that message is coming from... would probably need to take a look at your setup as you reproduce this to be able to figure it out. Are you using the Open Package command in Studio or just double clicking the package file? Try using the Open Package in Studio if you are not doing this already. 
 
Also note that the packages are only zip files, so if necessary you can always unzip the package and take the sdlxliff files from the target language folder for translation in your own project.

On top of this: 
 First store the package locally on your PC. Then create a new folder, where do you want to have the files from the package. It is crucial, that this must be a new folder, as it has to be EMPTY. Copy the path to this folder. Now go to Studio and use the "Open package" command. Navigate to the folder, where the package is. Click it, select open. 
 In the window which now appears paste the path you copied previously and click "Finish".
